Just finished the game via false ending. I wanted to rule the world. Decided to watch the real endings and.. I gotta say.. I didn't expect that. o_O

Not a fan of prequels.. I'll probably play Oblivion Lost now.

So, what are my thoughts on the game if anyone even cares? Well, to be honest, I loved it, and it's already my favorite game. Ignoring all the technical flaws (There are many, by the way, that really annoy you.) it's quite enjoyable. It's short, though. Most of my time was spent doing useless side quests. Ignoring them, you could easily beat this game in an hour or two with no rush, and that's depressing. I think this game would have been even better with some more RPG elements. Killing things would give you experience (you'd level up and receive skill points which you could dump into endurance, radiation protection, and so on). The anomalies would just further benefit you. The side quests would actually be useful because you'd do them for experience to build your character. In addition, you could also work the points from leveling up in skills such as lock picking (opening locked doors, locked chests, storage bins, etc), weapon maintenance (lowers chance of jam, allows you to fix degraded weapons with maintenance tools, etc), etc, etc. Perhaps, the SS2 in me is suggesting this. |

You have an experience level (novie, rookie, vet, etc.) but you don't get anything for it except a better reputation.

Wow. I just finished x18, and was it creepy. it could've used less generic stuff, but in general it was cool. It took me forever to get that fricking invisible thing dead, and i was extra creeped out when the door said it was held by "someone". Wtf were thost baby things? I shot it, dust came out, lol. it was pretty cool. I guess it's time for x16, eh?

i beat it. i did it. i did all the endings i could, and the one wish granter ending i got is really funny, and ironically cruel. but furthermore, the OH SHIT SPOILERS ALERT!!!! SPOILERS
OH SHIT SPOILERS ok. i do NOT understand the C-Concinous thing. I just dont get the thing. how was it started, and what does it do? end spoilers but regardless, it was an awesome game beyond belief. imma play Oblivion Lost, then this mod named Trboi Story, and then maybe totally vanilla, THEN Clear Sky. |

There's a reason why you don't understand the story completely.
It's the same reason why Clear Sky is a prequel. |

I started a game of Oblivion Lost in Hell mode, and damn it's intense. Enemies take off more than half of your HP with one shot, which makes firefights really intense. You constantly have to move around, or else you'll either get flanked or have a grenade tossed your way. Suppressed weapons seem to be absolutely essential early in the game; gunfire gives away your position, and that's something you don't want when you have intelligent enemies that can take off a large amount of HP with one shot.
I'm up to the first visit at the Bar so far, and even then most of the battles I've been in have been really intense. Killing the troops under the bridge, which is usually lasts around 2 minutes, was a 10-minute battle that had me constantly darting from cover while taking shots at the troops with the silenced pistol. Don't even get me started on the Agroporom raid; I did it at night and I couldn't use my flashlight, lest I get spotted by everyone in the base. It was a real bitch, but I managed to kill everyone and get the documents. |
