the memory could not be read

3598359835efomewfm934 memory could not be read.

or something like that. i get this error whenever i play HL: S, can somebody help me out?

Possibly faulty memory stick. If you've got 2 sticks, remove one and try again. Then swap them over to test

that not it, cause this has happened in the past, and i just got two brand new sticks, 2GB of DDR 2700 kingston, and i am able to play, but after a few levels, it does this when it goes to load another

Try doing a Steam cache verify thing. Look on http://www.steampowered.com through the Support section to see if you can find it. I'll look for the exact link for you.

that fixed it thanks, yea it was either a missing file, or a corrupt one, w/e it was my steam started downloading it.
