The first two Appleseed movies weren't very good, although the second one was awesomely animated. Er, wait, no, the first 'movie' was an OAV, not a move. So I've seen the first OAV and the first movie. Damn you anime!

Anyway, I still want to see the second movie, and the the show when it comes out.

And read the Manga.

Shirow Masamune is awesome, so there's got to be some Awesome in Appleseed somewhere.

my opinion:MANGA FTW
reading manga that's only text edited and translated into english is very interesting.
anime is edited so that 'curses' are not used, and they either leave it blank or they subtitute it.

I saw AMVs for Appleseed at Otakon '08. It looked good, I think I'll check it out sometime soon.

I grabbed it from Nyoro~n subs. They were the first group I found with a decent website who offered a good variety (low and high qual avi and mkv - four files every week).

Yeah, Menclave was quite slow with releases. But we do love quality more over speed.
If you think your pc is quite heavy, you might want to try the 1280x release. Quality is astonishing !

I spent most of today watching Beck: Mongolian Chop Squad.

It was really good, and there's a lot of music history weaved into the story if you know it. It's hard to miss the Nirvana references, at the very least.

I'm a bit depressed at the ending - it sort of just stopped, like a lot of anime. What bothers me most about most anime is that the manga goes on, so you can never watch the whole story - it's rare that an anime will show the complete story of a manga, light novel, etc. - whatever the source material may be.

Nevertheless, the music was pretty good. The English voice acting was good despite a few laugable mistakes - some intentional I suspect, some not.

Watch Beck - if you play music or aspire to do so, it will inspire you. It's great.

I've been meaning to watch that.

I've been reading the Beck Manga. I made it all the way to Chapter 98, but I can't find the last four for the life of me (even though they're out!).

The series is over. Shit, I'd take the raws and try to read it in Japanese if I had to. The series ends at Chapter 102, and it just sucks that I can't find it. ):

There's just no group that did a translation. I've got the same problem with that.

There is however a nice filmed serie out which is great to follow!
