For the record, and back on topic.

I got interested in the single blade wet shaving technique mentioned and bought some supply's to give it a try. On the first try it was about as smooth as any other shave, but there was no irritation and it felt quite nicely. From what I've read it takes a while for your skin to adjust to the new shaving technique it's a good sign that it's starting out equally as smooth.

Anyway, just sharing my results.

I just bought the listed shaving soap. Smells like lime or detergent. I like it.

Just waiting to get a safety razor and brush.

So far the wet shave+Lectric+Brut+Light touch shaving is adequately effective.

and I just use disposables cuz I am lazy... but yeah, the baby oil is what makes it so touchably soft.

take a wicked hot shower, lather up your face with hot water and soap. you
need to get your skin soft. this should help to not cut and bleed all over the place.then shave with a new razor in the shower.

works best for me than shaving cream over the sink any day.

if you want to be the man....do the hilter mustache like another person
here posted said. you'll get mad respect and the chicks will wet themselves
every time they see you.

haha, my mom told me to use disposables to shave my head (as apposed to my face.) My dear god was that a terrible experience. A brand new disposable every day, and a brand new spot of my scalp was scrapped off. Arg that sucked. I don't use the safety razor on my head, I'm honestly too frightened haha.

Worse that that though, was when I first moved out and had run out of blades. Instead of shaving I just let my beard grow out with the intention of buying blades later. I finally got frustrated with it and dug up this old as random razor that came with a travel kit my sister bought me. I attached the blade which was not only dull, but apparently rusted (which I only later found out.) It didn't shave anything. It instead somehow bypassed the known laws of physics and cut only my skin, no hair. It did however pull off some of my hairs along the way to the point where I realized I had to finish, or risk looking strange with a half shaved face. Each stroke beckoned me to scream and by the end I was tearing up a little bit. I sat staring at the mirror with only a Hitler mustache left. And I honest to God weighed the pros and cons of leaving it for a day and facing the estrangement of being a Jew with a Hitler 'stache. I decided against it and shaved. While rinsing the shaving cream off I pealed off flakes of my face. It was terrible, and ranked up there with the worst pain I've ever felt. (number 1 on that list is twisting my testicle. Long story for another thread... and yes, it's the worst pain ever.)

I dropped by a pharmacy and they are totally weird. They have brushes, good... Shaving soap, awesome... But no safety razors? Wtfck?

Speaking of brushes, I saw this boar hair 5.99 one. Is that good or should I go higher quality?

Everywhere I've read and every video I watched said not to go with boar hair. They reccomended Badger hair. Apparrantly it smells less bad and retains the water better. They go for around 20$. But I've seen them for hundreds which apparantly uses "special badger hair." I don't see how much more than 20$ should be spent.

I bought a kit from coolshaving.com which comes with the safety razor, a bowl, shaving cream and a brush. Extra blades were 5$ for a decently sized pack. They shipped pretty quickly using the cheapest method.

I hate facial hair but I love the beard that grows on my head and not my face.

Apparantly you guys have really thin beard hair. I used a gillete fusion 4 blade electric. I would have stubble by 12 if I shaved at 9, so imagine what would happen if I didn't have time to shave one morning. Not to mention the in grown hair, ouchies.

This stuff seems to work just fine. It's smooth and stays smooth. Plus it feels nice.
