I remember when I got my new computer after breaking my ass putting up a prefab building. It sure felt good to get that thing all hooked up. (:

Congrats FT. Be safe and wear a helmet and riding gear...good gear....it really does exist for a damned good reason.

Nice. Now save some more money and buy a DOT / Snell approved helmet, good leather gloves, and a padded jacket. Being as you live in a generaly cold area I would recomend actual leather as opposed to a synthetic or mesh for warmth because we both know you are gonna ride way later in the year than you should because it is just fun. Do your best to stay out of the rain especially for the first month or two until you get used to the brakes and tires. Remember also there are only two types of motorcycle owners those who have had accidents and those who are going to have one soon. It will happen be prepared for it and always wear your saftey gear.

I wish it was all sunshine and hugs but as soon as you get complacent it is over. I have been fortunate on my street bike. So far it has only been dropped and not wrecked hard. (shoe laces hung in pegs at a stoplight = fall over and feel REAL STUPID) My dirt bikes have been down more times than I could count. I think everyone drops or dumps their first bike at least once. Being prepared will save you a world of pain and medical bills. Keep in mind that your machine is ALWAYS cheaper to fix than you are.
