ghetto usb drive

took an ide to usb cable with ps..pulled a cage out of an old case hot glued the fan in it. ran a molex passthrough that is connected to the fans power cables between the ps and the hd and thats what ya get..weird thing is neither vista nor xp would recognize the drive until i put the usb hub in between them lol.

nah just a common issue with dyi setup like that. tried master, slave cable select on both my pc and my laptop. one time it was recognized by my pc. the common error is something along the lines of: usb device malfunctioned or is not working properly, then in the device manager it would show it as an unknown device. its amazing, i used to work in the IT dept (technical services) for about 11 years, until i became disabled,,and im still learning new stuff every day lol
