This is a real amazing piece of engineering. These guys that made that thing must be super proud.

The thing literally looks like how a real dog would act slipping on the ice like that and preventing itself from falling over (or humans for that matter).

Very impressive.

On a side note, the video was released on March 17,2008 and has already had over 1.2 million views heh.

thats mad. i couldnt survive a boot in the side like that! heh

it needs more visual perception though i think. it doesn't see those massive obstacles until its making physical contact with them, and to get any sort of speed you need that visual (or sonic) element of foresight.
