This is kinda random, but I guess it's fine since this is also the Chat forum.

I decided to upload some old videos of some old TFC maps Jesse and I made. I have some more old random TFC videos that I might upload as well just for the hell of it, like the pigskin video.

A bunch of FF videos? Yeah, I definitely agree.

Especially videos that show how the maps work and shit.

Love to see a remake of the waterpolo gameplay video...same music, newer map.

Yeah, 1.11 fixed up its lua. And the next patch might have a few more waterpolo lua tweaks.

He did ban me for spamming "OMGH4X", though . Looong time ago. Then again the biggest problem during that time period was TwoEyedHuman. 100% asshole.

There is no way of stopping someone from capping. If I remember right, you can cap ontop of the goal? With the soft cap it makes it impossible to stop anyone, though. And the goalie is worthless.

I suggest getting rid of the round reset with each cap and just have the ball reset in the middle. Maybe make it unreachable (or just delay the spawn) for 5-10 seconds after a cap.

Well, one of the problems with ff_waterpolo is that grenades aren't stripped on spawn like they were in the TFC version. So scouts are concin' like crazy all the time instead of relying on the grenade packs.

On top of that, it's hard to tell where a dropped ball is and who has the ball, because we don't have glowing yet and the ball carrier doesn't have an arrow above them like in TFC...and the ball doesn't float on top of the water (although, TFC's waterpolo had opaque water and you couldn't see a dropped ball for shit).

But no, you can't cap on top of the goal. And it's not impossible to stop a cap. Pipe traps are still the best defense, in my opinion.

That is the major problem with that map, actually. Scouts are incredibly hard to defend against. It might be playable if scouts need to grab a nade bag first.

Yeah, that plus the fact that not stripping grenades allows shit tons worth of grenade spam. I got pretty annoyed with all the spam when I played it earlier...for pretty much the first time outside of beta. Big mistake forgetting to strip grenades.

Yeah, some fixes would need to be in order for ff_waterpolo to even come close to making it worth while.

The last time I played that game I was capping before the enemy team was touching the water as scout. Just HH straight across the water zoom by pick up ball, bhop straight into goal before a solly even reached me. I did this because if I didn't the enemy team's scout would do the same thing.

I'd like to see ukfootie remade.

I thought about putting it in General Discussion, but wasn't sure since it didn't have anything directly to do with FF. However, now it does...

ff_waterpolo - down in a hole

Should make more random FF videos and just keep adding them there.

Great song. And interesting choice of showing you putting the nade stripping code into the map's lua. It's a very specific group of people that will even begin to understand what's going on there.

But, it captures the problem with the current version of waterpolo pretty well.
