Indie Games and Steam

Thought this might be of interest to the devs if getting FF on Steam in the future is desired. Still totally vague, but definitely the best thing I read on reddit today, and I immediately thought of FF. |

Mods are separate from indie games. For FF to be considered an indie game we'd need to have licensed the source engine.

I personally have a friend who sees me playing this game all the time, he thinks about downloading it, but when he realizes he can't get it off steam he just gives up. |

Whether this means that Valve doesn't see any reason (profits etc) to put FF on steam, they feel its not worth the resources, or that they feel it will be competition to TF2, I have no idea. Last edited by oaties; 03-22-2012 at 01:23 AM. |

Don't all of the "free to play" games on Steam have some sort of an optional payment system within the game? Maybe Valve gets a percentage of this from each game?

No, CaptainAhab, there are free mods on Steam (PVKII, Dystopia, Zombie Panic, Age of Chivalry, etc), but it's been a long time since a new mod has been added.
I need to write a news post detailing our current situation with regards Steamworks.
