Okay you're officially overusing the light beams. Take it easy!
As for the layout, looks pretty alrght. Some trim around the edges and you'd have something resembling a winner.

nice to see a map that isn't over-using curves just because it can
needs more detail, lighting, etc. but you aren't done and it looks pretty solid so far. |

I acutally say keep the light beams, they add a sort of coolness
and I personally like not having so much trim, to many people add way too many curves Last edited by o_-=bingo-bango=-; 01-10-2007 at 10:28 PM. |

The light beams are obnoxiously overdone. Everything else looks pretty cool so far. And like circ said, some trim would go a long way.

Definitely too many point_spot lights. Either remove some or maybe try turning the alpha down on them.
Also, don't be afraid to use colored lighting / spotlights, I don't see anything other than white. |

I do like the rough style u're creating there with the edges and textures. And I like the light beams in the yard. Looks like RAMMSTEIN live in berlin...
Let's conceal where they've got the idea from... |

just because it is source does not mean everything in the world must be rounded. angular architecture is much more plausable and makes you feel less like you are in some eye candy map and more in a map meant for killing people.

Read it again. And again. And then tell me what's so disappointing. For the record: I think the aesthetic value of those lights is something you can not deny when it comes to create a map with this atmosphere. With the rammstein and thrird reich comparision I just wanted to give an artistic hint. Not a political statement. See, there is a difference. If you can not understand this, I still would not go so far to honor you with a superlative. Keep up the good work, regards. Last edited by o_hittman; 01-10-2007 at 03:25 PM. |

Hmm looks interesting I'm a great fan already!
I will make some suggestions: Make the outside daylight darkness is very bad for game play Replace the metal mesh texture with another or scale down the existing one as it looks grainy Replace the wall texture in the left of the third picture in my view it looks bad generally Break up walls with windows either that or have some exposed rock or something to give them some variety. Add some colour to the lighting, subtle yellows and blues work best usually but use others where appropriate. Last edited by o_own3r; 01-10-2007 at 10:14 PM. |

Dark sky is okay for leagueplay, just look at bases.. as long as your interiors are lit enough. You can have shadows, but dont have them covering large part of where players are going to be. i think the fr is a tad too dark. Also try experimenting by making that bright white light over the flag red. Also you need to make that ramp more interesting imo, a trim alone isn't going to do it. point_spotlights are indeed overused. maybe try to use them in a few smart spots your architecture looks promising though, keep it up! |

I like the way the map looks except for the flag room.
The flag room looks too simple and boring. Could be the textures but not sure exactly. |

Thx 2 all for your comments and suggestions. I'm currently fighting my point spot light addiction
I've made a Overview for the map. Unfortunately some parts aren't displayed tehre, so I added some comments. Below the bridge in the Middle of the map will be another passage to provide a second way into the enemy base. The canyon under the bridge will not be accessable: everybody who falls of the bridge, dies http://www.chaosfuerst.com/maps/ff/f..._overview2.jpg |
