I have the money. Yet, have no decision. FF, decide for me. What are the pros and cons? I'm leaning more toward COD:WAW. Reasons?

CoD4 features Russians too, and evil Russians at that.

Yes, but do they wear thick fur coats and torn ushankas while they mow down the enemy with PPshs?

CoD4 is better. WaW is just a rip-off. Basically, buy cod4 and download waw from a torrent

Would you rather to be attacked by a helicopter or a pack of dogs. In MP. (7 kills).

Pros
* Zombie killing mode
* Single Player a tad better than the one in cod4. 4 player co-op campaign.
* Vehicles
* Capture the Flag gamemode.
* Limbs get blown off.
* Flamethrowers

Cons
* Fewer weapons
* Familiar game mechanics/setting/guns.

I've only seen videos of COD4 so I really can't base an opinion of how good it is compared to WAW, but WAW is a very fun game to play, especially on multiplayer. But I also played it on PS3, so I'm sure I'd probably have a lot more fun playing it on PC. IMO, this is the first war game I've played that I really enjoy.

COD4 is the tits of Tactical FPS games.

WAW is the same shit we've seen from COD1-3, just piggybacked onto the COD4 engine.

I enjoyed the singleplayer of COD4 more, but WaW's multiplayer has a few tweaks I prefer. Last stand can be healed, dogs > helicopters, ridiculous german vocals. Again though, WaW seems to be little more than a reskin of COD4.

COD4's singleplayer is VERY good (people say it's short though). It plays like a movie. The multiplayer seems too much like CS for me. I'm not a fan of the whole one-shot-kills. I die every time I spawn and can't find anyone... Not my idea of fun. But many people love it.

Both are great games.

CoD4 is (well was, I gave up when DAMN started taking over the scene - turning the game into CS:S - I think now DAMN and PROMOD combined to make the official competition mod - still, not as good as just straight up PROMOD ) good for competition. CoD:WaW has a better selection of actually useful perks, and there's more to unlock in MP to keep you grinding for the top spot.

CoD4's SP was more jaw dropping than WaW's, but both campaigns were decent regardless.

CoD4 has Before the Dawn for a mod, which is a zombie fragfest. Quite fun. WaW has it's Nazi Zombies.

So you're just really going to have to do research on the games and go on a whim and just pick what you think you're going to enjoy the most. I recommened getting both at least sometime down the road.

The biggest cons you have to look at current are -
1. MW2 is right around the corner, and it's looking like it's story is going to combine with MW1's. So you might miss out on the story if you want to play that when it releases if you don't play CoD4 now.
2. WaW is made by a iffy developer. You can tell the quality differences immensely. There's really nothing that ruins the game, it's just the simple things from animation quality down to sound effects.
3. WaW is fucking WW2. I'm sick of WW2.
4. Playing as the American's in WaW is boring. The Russians are crazy and out for blood - and you'll have most of your fun just going on the ruthless murder sprees that the Russians are out for.
5. Americans and Japanese weapons aren't even half as fun as the Russian and German weapons. Hell, the Japanese weapons are almost passable on all accounts. Aside from the Type 100, there isn't shit that they have that you'll want to pick up while playing.

---

Oh, and the PPsh in WaW is fucking bawls.
It's perfect for strafing runs across rooms just to thin herds.
Nothing like a 50 round drum, minimal recoil, and a faster than Squeek's sex drives rate of fire.

Playing the hardcore mode certainly takes alot of the "arcade" out of it.

It's not quite ghost recon, but I think it certainly beats the pants off the current competition.

Greenday: No. I've played SoC and all available mods. Clear Sky is a prequel and doesn't boast anything uniquely new, so I don't want to waste $35.00 on it.

Surprisingly, I'm going to take Partial's advice on this. I'm just going to save my money (*stares into distance at AK-74*). I thought about it.. $50.00 for a video game, whether it's WaW or COD4, is too much, though I've wanted to play them for a while now. I'll wait until the price drops.. in like a few years.. lawl. Along with Fallout 3.

I'm also way too torn between the two to decide. One game has some kick ass modern weapons (AK-74 plz) and is supposed to feel a lot better and fluid, but the other has blood-thirsty Russians in brown winter coats and ushankas mowing down weaklings with their sub-machine guns. A difficult decision indeed.

But honestly, if you had a above-average pc, I would go for cod4. I just has that feel to it. I dunno about the whole russian aspect, though.

I always wanted to have a rifle, the only thing I have is a grenade, a paintball gun, and some .22 pistol.
