should i get The Lost and the damned for GTA IV?

It seems pretty damn steep 20 bucks for some extra missions, and i do not play multiplayer i really enjoyed GTAIV, until the middle where it boiled down to:
go to mission
drive someone from A to B. Oh no, you're ambushed
Fork in road:
save someone you dont care about
or
kill someone you dont care about

POSSIBLY:
drive off in an annoyingly badly scripted motorcycle chase and if you screw up once you need to drive back through the entire mission again.

(basically the last point is what is preventing me from replaying the whole game again)

Well no...
in GTA:SA there was more than just driving and killing people
Learn to drive cars, bikes, planes in school
The Area 69 mission
Gang control, and respect
watching your weight

Though I only played GTA 4 for around 5 hours at a friends house, but the missions got really repetitive, especially when you cousin kept on calling you. :/

I havent gotten it yet but from what i hear its well worth it. It includes about 8-12 hours of story, more weapons, more vehicles, more tv, more mini-games, more interior areas, more radio stations. Basically more of everything the game has to offer

That is the entire reason I haven't beat GTA:IV; that fucking last mission. Granted, I've only tried three times, but that was enough for me to turn it off and not turn it back on.

I would like to. There are several games on the DS I'd like to get ahold of.

Hes like 15. So that would make him like 7 when GTA 3 came out. 8 when vice city came out, 10 or 11 when GTA:SA came out. And if you're playing those games at that age then you have horrible parents.

GTA 3 came out when I was in high school. I remember playing it once when some kid brought a TV and PS2 with GTA3. I've played GTA2 a bunch in recent times. I played parts of GTA:VC and GTA:SA. They are decent but I suck at the controls in general.

As for the DS, without getting into a DS vs PSP war, the DS has a TON of great game options. The only thinks that the DS lacks are FPS games. This isn't a huge loss considering it's HUGE Sidescroller library. It also has many solid (J)RPGs if that's to your liking. It also has a lot of puzzle games. If you have a reason for getting a Handheld, I would say the DS (or DSi) is worth the money.

Missions in GTA seems to be VERY hit and miss, which is my problem with GTA in general.
Some missions are great and fun, others are just dumb and impossibly hard (mainly because no GTA game ever actually has great controls).

I would say if you loved GTA4 and are still playing through the non-story content, go for it. If you've already done and finished the game, I really depends on how obsessed you are.
