[REQUEST] Cartoon models.

I used to use them. In fact, they feel more like TFC to me than anything else. I could care less about the textures. Essentially they were like this:

Yeah, I just realized that I found this link on the FF archives.

Any chance on getting this?

Edit: A bit dark, but you should get the idea.

Didn't they essentially double the polys per model?

I recall reading that they made them (more or less in a non-accurate description) by copying the model, oversizing it a bit and "paint" it with some kind of black texture that let you see through it, but not through the map.

Anyways, I used them =D

Double the pollies or not, I'd still use them.

Or even the old TFC models if you catch my drift :P.

This picture from Credge's first post, All those black lines around the weapon are extra poly's, same thing was used to outline the toon models seen HERE

I think you duplicate the model, grow it in size and reverse the normals or something..

Yep.

I don't care how many poly's I'm using on these. I've got plenty of rendering room to spare. Hell, I'd even use them with the old TFC models that I'm currently using just 'cuz it's sexy shit.

Toon Nailgun ftw?

I like it, goes with my textures

Was kind of a hackjob, because I am no good with animations yet. It idles and thats about it. I personally dont like my guns to twitch around a whole lot though.

I would love to do all of them, but, animations fail me ><

+1 for toon/shaded models

Preferably replicates of the models in the video, they just rock.

Also, I think it would be fair to say that something like this would eliminate a lot of the visibility issues that some players are having with the high-res textures and high-res player models, no? The blending in effect if you will.

All in all, this is something I would really like to see.
