Fortress Forever Textures
Hey
I was just wondering about the FF textures. Did you make them all by yourself or did you also borrow from Half-life 2? I was particularly wondering about the 2fort textures, I can't seem to find all textures used in ff_2fort in the FF/materials folder. Am I just missing them or are not all of them there? |

We use a lot of HL2 textures; some maps have more custom art than others but any time there's a suitable texture from HL2 we use that.
Because HL2 is required to play, we have ready access to all models and textures from that game. |

Thanks. Using VTF Explorer, in which folder can I find the half-life 2 textures? I can't seem to find them.

First you need to get a program called GCFScape
( all the HL files are packed away in .GCF format, this is why you need GCFScape ) Once you find the files you are looking for, you can extract them, and then place them in the correct path in your FF folder, if you edit them. |

And how do you know the correct path?
Edit: Never mind, I figured it out. Last edited by Garland-W; 11-02-2008 at 12:04 PM. |

Further questions: Did you use only textures that you made yourselves and from Half-life 2 or do you have additional textures to that?
And where can I view prop-textures? There are some in the hl2 materials folder but there must be more. |

Open up your SteamApps folder , then use GCFScape to open the "Source Materials" GCF . Once in there find materials/models or materials/props . Lots of props and things in there.
