ff_haberton_v2, actually working edition(tm)

Got it working now. Tracked the problem down to using .mp3 files in the <mapname>_level_sounds.txt; which apparently crashes dedicated servers when the sound is played by an ambient_generic.

I have also tested the bz2-packed version with sv_downloadurl. Everything downloads correctly, works. Hopefully no more nasty surprises now.

Screenies:

This is a generator owned by the red team. If a blue player hits the switch this generator will shut down and the corresponding blue generator(behind the red generator in this view) will start up in 10 seconds.

Generators award 1 point every 6 seconds they are active.

Far view.

Jump pads through the central column.

In the foreground is a jump-pad that can take you to the upper floor.

The shield instagibs players who touch it; it is not closed up top. If the team has at least one active generator the shield will be active.

The turret activates if both generators are up. Its range has been limited; it covers the flag and the spawn.

Normal: ff_haberton_v2.rar

Compressed for sv_fastdownload: ff_haberton_v2_bz2.rar

Awesome. I hope to try this out soon.

You mentioned small teams on the first thread- what is your recommended team size?

Hell, I don't know. I think it's going to be a spamfest if you go much above 4 vs 4.

Yeah its a small map, you practically spawn in the other teams base. I'd like to play it 2v2 for fun. In a pub it might be a fun 5v or something, would be a bit spammy but the fun kind of spammy. But you will most likely see this being played at 11v on Talos... LOL

Has anyone spotted it in the wild? Any feedback based on actual play?

Its a very well made map. I haven't played a full game on this yet but it seems like it would be very interesting to play. I love the textures and the overall ambiance.

One thing I noticed is that it was easy for my to get turned around and lose my orientation of where the cap point is in relation to the flag/button etc. Maybe signs would be helpful?
