Why don't we make a community map?
Anyone can take part and shape the direction the map goes. We need:
A Vision:
A Plan:
Making it:

Sounds good, are you able to host it when the map is completed?
I vote for exact same layout Last edited by o_agret; 02-20-2007 at 11:41 AM. |

i honestly would have hoped no one would try to create the maps the Dev team is making. honestly too many maps in a release normally never went well from what i have seen.

Well people made unoffical releases of CS maps for CSS that Valve eventually released much later, this community 2fort will probably get finished before the FF one. Not sure what state the FF one is in though...

if we/y'all or going to do this i vote exact same layout...2fort is prob my favorite map...the ONLY thing i would change is the spiral going down to FR...maybe make it wider and possibly a lil taller...
i was going to see how well i liked the new 2fort and i was going to redo it exactly like TFC's if i didnt like it... i'm more than willing to help with this...sounds good to me... let me know what you need me to do.... |

Ok so what about the theme?
A few come to mind: World war two style bunkers, the setting would be a beach one side and the sea the other with each base set into the cliff Wild west style have saloon like forts ala dustbowl with the base made up from different structures, possibly with a mine for the flag room complete with gold. Desert setting with modern space age bases with clean lines, trim and special fx maybe even some combine tech. What are your ideas? Random: I think if we remake this higher ceilings throughout would be a great addition atm feels claustrophobic especially in the spiral as was previously said. |

Two bases built into opposing walls over a river that winds past. Grates could block the rest of the river off. Could adapt the WW2 bunker idea easily, make it a multi-fronted base instead of a single face.

Also can we adapt the water enterance to be say on a river bank going into the base for example probably make it a bit shorter too. Will we allow the players to get out via a river bank or will they be too steap? Last edited by o_own3r; 02-20-2007 at 02:59 PM. |

I like the idea of letting you get out of the water. Lets change it up some. Don't keep it exactly the same. |

I'm all for a community map project (hell, I'm one of the 3 ppl (yes, only 3) who actually pushed and worked on the idea the first time. For those who don't know, my ff_dropdown map is the continuation of my work on that first community map project.
But anyways, why not make a map that the FF isnt already doing? I like the Bases style, the concrete that is. But I think it's a FF texture so the community doesn't have access to that, (sad). Last edited by o_sh4x; 02-20-2007 at 08:35 PM. |

I guess its because the FF team are under pressure to keep it exactly the same, we however can do whatever we like change things and make it how we want it to be. I did contemplate doing this for 2mach should I change it to that instead?
