Hello, guys.
I played Fortress Forever for a while back in early 2012 but never really got into it. I'm thinking of playing it more now that it's been Greenlit, and I also made a forum account accordingly. So, I greet all of you, and ask that you don't horribly murder me like what's been happening ingame.
Might I also add that the weapons in this game really are quite hard to get used to, I've had better luck with the crowbar than I have with any projectile weapons...

Welcome back, hope you enjoy yourself.
Sorry to hear your luck about some of the weapons. I don't feel like they're much different from quakes or TF2s projectiles. Slightly slower though. Projectiles in general do take some time to master. If you need any help or tips feel free to ask.

How you feel about the weapons obviously matters hugely off of what games you've played previously.
Someone who plays a lot of CoD is used to low bullet spread and high damage, someone who plays a lot of CS is used to high bullet spread and high damage, and someone who plays a lot of something like, I dunno, Mechwarrior? is used to low bullet spread and low damage (except it's entirely different and you aim different to where you move and you have to keep in mind heat and. well. nothing like it. just couldn't be arsed to sit here and think of a game to compare it to. Maybe Timesplitters? Except that's kinda average damage, I'd say. Ofc, you'll also be doing better with the Crowbar as a new player (ish) as it's one of the few cross-class weapons.

Use choke points. If you have an RTS player mouse sensitivity turn it way down and practice for a week or so.
