Simple idea to show ff loyalty

Now ff is greenlit if a person donates say $5 could devs add the steamid to the game so the player has a golden crowbar, golden rocket launcher, jump pad etc.

$5 per golden item. that way the devs can get some cash back in, or use any funds to run a server.

I would defo pay for some golden items.

Just a thought and would be kinda cool in game, can see who is helping the community.

The concept is good and has been done before, I just don't think there are enough players to say, let squeek quit his day job and work on ff or hire a paid dev. You'd get like $150 max.

As always, money and FF essentially can't mix. The number of developers (each with differing levels of contribution, which further complicates things) basically makes retrospective compensation impossible and it'd be unfair for the current developers receive money for a product that only exists because of past developers' work.

We'll only ever accept donations to fund specific things (like FF's $100 Greenlight fee, which was donated by the community).

Just make it a single item, i.e. crowbar. I don't think people would mind a one time donation for a little perk, especially in light of the major recent advancement.

I just think it's kind of toeing the line that a certain unmentionable game has crossed. Even though I know FF would never fall into that abyss. I really don't want to see the visuals change unless it's a direct upgrade for the base game, rather than perks for individuals. There's something greatly satisfying about a game with a specific, uniform visual imo. Old school, as well as clean.

I also don't want people to see them and spend time wondering how people have them, or where they can get one themselves. And I don't want people to feel left out or unfortunate for not having one.

Besides you could always just request, or make your own, customs. The shotgun has already graciously been made by mnzy.

EDIT: This is more or less what I wanted to say in my first post but I didn't have the words for it. Hence lame post.

this is a bad idea. for reasons squeek says. more importantly someone could just make some skins for the game.

maybe some kind of badge on your profile via achievement, that shows how long you've been playing FF. i don't think thats possible without manually doing it though.
