Map question
Seeing as this is a TF mod and all, I think everyone has already come to the assumption that we'll be seeing some TF classics with the release of FF like 2fort, Well, and Bases. My question is, how many newer TF maps (Vidars, Oppose2k1, Redgiant, ect) will we be seeing from the FF team? I'm aware that most of the above maps were made by individuals not involved with the mapping in this mod, but they were league-play essentials in TFC and it would be a shame to see them not be ported to FF. I'm sure some of these maps will end up by being ported over some time down the road by private mappers, but having to go out of your way to download popular maps is one of the things that has always alienated new players in TFC and most other TF mods.
PS - No Mulch_Trench please. |

I for one would like the most popular of TFC maps to be ported over with new gameplay additions (2fort, Well, etc.) plus FF's new slew of original maps for a new mod experience.

Elvis is nearly spot on. We're concentrating on the most popular TFC maps to begin with. Gradually people from the team and other independent mappers may update more of the custom maps. Expect at least one new map with the release aswell.

Is there an official map list that the dev team has in development? So that some of us not so elite can begin to understand what maps we can begin to try port over?

Good question Koochy. We're finalising the list at the moment so we'll get an answer for you in a day or so.

This doesn't have to come right away, but I myself would like some info as I am eager to start mapping for the Fortress Forever mod ASAP. |

ill probably try to port a few maps, such as turkeyburgers2002(which will become 2005) cause i can actually get the rmf and map file of it from the guy who made it. and then remake my maps irs(the original version, which noone has seen, although my irs3 is a smaller version of it) and socceruphill, the way i wanted to make it

You could start mapping now without the .fgd and could run to test the map to see if lighting looks ok ect. under half life 2 or if you want to see how it is teambased wise, under hl2dm.Like many people I have started on a custom map :P
