Will I be able to play FF?
I don't have HL2, but I hear that you're able to play FF if you get HL2DM. I don't plan on buying that, but there's a special steam offer which lets you download HL2DM for free(http://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a). If I do that, will I be able to play FF?

Nah, 'fraid not, you need to have Source SDK base which doesn't come with HL2DM...

Edit to avoid confustion: You need to have purchased a full copy of HL2DM, the free ATI promotion version doesn't come with the Source SDK, which you need to play mods. So you can't play FF with the free ATI version.

Free to all Radeon owners?
Is this game playable with only HL2: DM on the Steam account?
If it is, it is noteworthy that Valve is giving all Radeon owners free HL2: DM http://www.steampowered.com/ati_offer1a/ P.S. Of course, a Source game isn't that expensive anymore. |

Yeah, and they are NOT giving out Source SDK Base (which comes with the purchased version of HL2 : DM, but not the free version). Source SDK Base is what is needed to play FF.
If you wanna play FF, shelling out a few bucks to get HL2 : DM is the cheapest way if you do not own any games that come with Source SDK Base.
