Windows keys in FF *( and one other little annoying thing )

I am not sure if I am posting in the right place, but here goes..

The game plays fine, I have played before several years ago, always on american server, but I am in england, I stopped playing as I changed jobs and had 5:30am starts gmt, which is basically when the servers used to fill up. Now I work better hours, enough of the waffle..

As I said the game plays fine, except I keep hitting the windows keys, and the game returns to the desktop, most of the times in the heat of battle, i return to find myself dead and looking in the air.
I don't remember having such troubles when I used to play

Is there a way of disabling the windows keys in config files, I have spent about an hour looking through posts, to no avail.

also while I am here, how do I disable the tips... I found what I thought what was to do with the tips in the config.cfg but no.

The only reason I bought half life 2 so long ago, was to play this mod, I still have not looked at team fortress 2, as valve can think what they like, this is the progression of TFC !!

I just popped that key off my keyboard.

You can also disable tips either in your options or fortress options, I forget which.

thank you for the quick help.
I thought there was something in the game itself to disable the windows keys, popping the keys off is also good, as they are really only in the way.

Yeah I used to hit it all the time on accident.

i can't figure out how you even hit the windows key by accident I've tried, i just can't reproduce it. also even when i want to I can't it hit the windows key worth shit :P

EDIT: i just figured out my current keyboard doesn't even have a windows key. but my last keyboard did and I remember i couldn't hit that fucker for shit.

It's...right next to the crouch key, and just under the shift key.

The only time I'd ever hit the windows key is if I screw up where my hand goes, and try to move with ESDF instead of WASD :L

If you have your hand over WASD, you have to slide it out of the way to hit the Windows key, so I don't see why how you'd manage to do it anyway.
