Gunbound!

Has anyone played/does anyone still play Gunbound around here?

I play a few rounds now and then when I'm bored, and me and a friend started the clan 'Comrade' (Purely for fun, not for competition).

For those that don't know, Gunbound is kinda like worms but online. You can pick from 16 vehicles to play as, each with 3 attacks, and fight it out with other people on line. You can move a little bit each turn, but normally you just adjust your trajectory and power like in worms.

As you play you earn money and go up in ranks (something like BF2), and you can use your money to buy gear for your guy. I normally play in servers where the gear is functionally disabled so everyone is on an equal playing field though.

The best part is, the game is totally free.

If anyone wants to put me on their friends list (Which, haha, works unlike the friends list in some games), I go by Platanov.

Ah yes, Gunbound. I used to play. But then I realized it was a shitty ripoff of worms and sucks.

So I kinda stopped.

I played, but I hate the fucktards that inhabit every game. Got to a stone axe before I said fuggit. Got a friend that still plays religiously, double gold axes... crazy amount of time into it.

I just started to play silkroad and it's kinda fun if anyone want to join. My current Char is Mooga on the Babel server.

The download is kinda huge (500mb) but it's a good waste of time so far...

I played it for a while, kidna fun. favourite tank was the cluster rocket cannon one (FWOOM FWOOM FWOOM FWOOM EXPLODY). But the one problem i had with it was the damned shop for items. If you wanted 'permanent' armor, you would have to pay a crapload of money for it, and paying the cheapest way would only get the item for you for 7 days

It's true that Gunbound truly sucks the blowsaw (mostly because it has NO netcode at all) but it's still fun :P

And the one true mobile for l337 h4xz0rs was A.Sat. I love that thing...

I've got a question though. Can anyone tell me why all people with wand and dragon rank suck so bad? Every single one of them is truly a noob. They're fun to make fun of all game while they miss with duals untill they bitch out and quit, but I don't get why ALL of them are so terrible at the game. But I regress...

Gunbound was made to keep the annoying fobs off of other online games like Counter Strike and warcraft, it failed miserably.

Worms 1 was the best game of this type ever (by far).

I haven't played that in 10 years, damn I miss it... gonna have to find a good DOS emulator, hehe.

Nah. Wish I did. I used to have it, you can probably get it on old DOS freeware sites.

Charred Dirt is a decent alternative, if you want your tanks to have some style/advantages/their own special moves. Doesn't need DOS either.
