The bottom line is, you have no excuse for getting for free what people are trying to sell you. Unless you truely "listen, then buy/delete" (<= a very honourable use of P2P, but then again : can't you listen to albums in a store) you have no moral right on earth to do that. |

Like Etzell and FT, i wouldn't have more then half of my CD's if i weren't P2Ping them first. Wouldn't be aware to a lot of music too.
You are right though, i still havn't deleted/bought all of the music i d/loded. So you think a few artists or record labels got ripped by me? By the fact that i own an mp3 version of their music? I don't care. Others gained. Moral or not, bottom line is, mp3's can't replace an actual CD. If it's good enough, i'll prolly buy it eventually. It's a process. I allready got all the good Pink Floyd albums, like 8 albums. You can't listen to their (and many others. unless it's pop music) stuff in a store. Some music needs to grow up on you before you can understand it. Dunno where movies stand in all of this though. I never rent/buy DVD's and don't go to the cinema anymore. I just watch the pirated version on my 17 inch monitor |

Now, Mesc, that's a whole different matter. As I said I am as guilty as others of what I do with my connection and that why or why not you should do it is an issue of law and morality. The thing that drives me into walls is seeing people feel they are entitled and perfectly in the right to get things you have to pay for, for free. I could let go if someone stole food because he was starving but it's not like you need all that music on your computer. And you are right about listening to stuff in stores, but it's still a point.
I can't see how the issue would be different with movies. |

I usually rent the movie then rip it to my computer, put it on my iPod, and watch it on the way to school. I can say though, with 100% certainty, I have never downloaded a movie. Those are different than music imo, more work went into them, more people involved etc. Far different than downloading a song off an album.

RIAA are still out of the line though and Sony is plain lame. But that got nothing to do with the actual music/movies ofcource. |

Sony knows it overstepped with the DRM nonsense and they were rebuked for it.. As to whether that casts a shadow on Bluray remains to be seen. Personally I'd like to see Bluray fail for that reason.

Nothing to do with God giving you an excuse, it's go to do with 'Indecency and shortness of sight at its best.'
EDIT: 651, you're the spoiled white kid. You're ignorant too. You're advertising the KKK and saying there's nothing wrong with what you do on the internet. And my iPod? That makes me spoiled? I had to pay for that with the money I earned from my job. I'd say I'm very priviledged and not always aware of how easy I get it, but I wouldn't consider myself spoiled. |

You're clearly not that bright. I call you a wigger because you make page long posts in big red letters. I call you a wigger to push your buttons because it's funny. Advertising the KKK is stupid. You really do have to be an asshole to do that.

That was due to the stupid hip-hop caps lock posts that drove everyone nuts.

I saw this documentary called "Hate Rock."
Basically it proved that racists suck at making music.
