Headphones help.
I think I may be just clumsy but I've never owned a pair of headphones that have lasted more than 6 months. These were great for a while, but eventually fell apart:
http://www.firebox.com/?dir=firebox&...roduct&pid=691 Got some great in ear seinnheisser ones for my headphones recently but then the wires coatinng started to crack. Otherwise they were great. Anyway I'm after some cordless headphones figuring its the lead that i tend to destroy 99% of the time. Are cordless ones any good generally, wont need em for my ipod this is just for the computer. Thanks |

I had to buy a new soundcard 'cuz I kept tripping over my fuckin' headphone wires. Totally ruined the jacks.
Tried some wireless, but they suck ass. I've been using http://xoxide.com/plantronics-gamecom-1-headphones.html for almost a year. They've survived many trips, many falls, and countless hours of music and gaming goodness.

you didn't mention your budget so i'm gonna recommend this ones for gaming
http://www.headphone.com/guide/by-ma...mic-dt-770.php forget about wireless. if you still insist though, stick to Sennheiser http://www.headphone.com/products/headphones/wireless/ if you just want headphones for your comp, try those http://www.headphone.com/products/he...ser-hd-201.php they're cheap and have a good reputation. this are supposed to be nice too http://www.headphone.com/products/he...ser-hd-485.php bit more pricey though EDIT: the cord on the senns is detachable. i steped on mine quite a few times too and it just snaps off. |

i've always been sceptical of gaming audio stuff. all these flashy features on the outside, where on the inside it's just cheap - creative being a prime example here. have they considered putting decent clocks in, or better DACs/ADCs? |

I've been using a pair of £9.99 Goodmans headphones, do the job nicely and have seen a fair share of abuse and wear. One of the headphone ear covers is coming off now so maybe time to get another pear of cheap ones.

You must have been giving them some hammer rebo, i've had medusa's now for about a year with no probs. I use Beyer DT100's against Genelec 1023a's at work but need a mic at home when gaming. As far as i've found so far their the best with a mic attached.

is there much latency over bluetooth? it isn't too bad for HIDs, but i've not experimented much with audio over bluetooth

how much did you ppl spend on that silly ass medusa shit?
why not buy some real headphones? http://www.audiocubes.com/product/Au...eadphones.html and the funny thing is that the 11$ Koss KSC75 would probably do your music/games more justice then the 100$+ medusa's http://www.amazon.com/Koss-KSC75-Por...&s=electronics Last edited by o_mescalito; 09-11-2006 at 09:08 PM. |

not quite the same :/
i'm talking into the fine milliseconds. 10ms is easily noticeable when you stick a guitar through the pc or something. it's quite surreal playing it. a phonecall is just a relay, and there's more room for latency |
