i.am/fortressforever ?!
Ok, so who remembers the website, i.am/tfc ? I came across it the other day and remembered how much it helped me when I first began playing.. And I was thinking, maybe for the newcomers that will be playing it might be a good idea to create a similar site to keep everyone informed on what the game is about in a detailed fashion. For those of you who don't remember the website, you can take a look here.
http://web.archive.org/web/200105152...fc.pcgame.com/ It's basically a website that breaks tfc down in every aspect, so the newer guys can learn all the different classes, strategies, uses, etc. And some more stuff. I think having a site like this would help the mod out a lot.. So i'm on here just asking if anyone would be interested in helping out. Lemme know your thoughts. .qp. blinK |

I remember that site! It certainly was handy when I first started out. It may be worth speaking to the developers, because I know they've mentioned in the past about implementing some sort of training into FF.
Even so, a site like that could be useful, and I'd certainly be willing to help out. I'm not amazing with webpage design or anything (though I've played around with it in the past), but I'd certainly be willing to help out with any website content. |

I know how to create websites with photoshop, and put them together.. I can't code anything automated however. I would need help with people writing up the content portions, and someone who could code could help in implementing some nice features.

Im sure there will be plenty of resources for FF. The web dev team might make an official one. At the very least they are adding assitive stuff within the game anyway. |

Lol when I said I create websites with photoshop I meant I can create interfaces pretty well. And I know how to cut it up and make it work in a website.. Here's a few samples I have up..

I think the in-game tutorial, plus the whole "turn fortress-forever.com into the FF site" deal would probably satisfy this situation nicely, yeah?

Heh. I quit cutting shit up in Photoshop when I got decent with CSS. It's a lot less hassle.

I remember that site, I remember looking into the tweaking section, but it has been mention before, twice actually, that FF site will be the main source for everything you need for FF. Maps, demos, scripts, FF help etc....

Mayby a wiki for Fortress Forever? However, the problem is, people will probably not agree with one persons tactics, erase them, and put their own up. Then the person who's data gets erased does the same thing except vice-versa.

i.am.tfc was a great site, especially the speedrun section. However those kinda sites always seem to end up not being updated, and for most players they only have a limited lifespan and wont have much that will keep bringing you back, you only need so many rjump scripts.
For a game like FF(i.e one that is probably not going to have so much of a playerbase as the likes of cs and bf2) it would be far better to have some kind of consolidated site with clan news, Scripts, customizations, Demos, Avis, Speedrun demos etc, rather than simply concentrating on one small area. Obviously thats quite a challenge, and i know how time consuming just the demo part can be, But with a few people working on the site it should be possible. |

Problems like that can be solved though. Could have actual players each submit their own little strategies, seperate them from beginner to advanced.. etc. We need to find a way to get FF some more publicity so it's a "big release" has anyone from the dev team tried contacting Valve? They're really the key, some spotlight on the news popups in the steam loader would be amazing.

If they bother contacting Valve they'll probably do it when they're closer to a release.

That site was awesome. I remember regularly using the information until one day it went down the tubes and dissappeared without so much as a "thanks! its been great". It was a sad day for me.

If this site becomes THE ff site i think it would be more alive than any community site :P i mean we got all us guys and gals allready so when its released alot more people will join in here, making demos scripts and shit. and the bigger part of the tfc community will transfer over etc. could be huge.
so im all for the one ff site idea |
