a different question about hopping
Hey got a question about the movement in FF. I know your making it easier to hop similiar to QW and dumping in the trimping too. But will you be able to circle hop/forward hop (not like painkiller or q3 see below)...
What I mean is in QW and QWTF you did the standard strafe left/right turn ya mouse deal to pump up your speed etc etc. BUT you could also face inwards towards a person/object and hop around the person/object -like a planet orbitiing a sun- if you held forward and kept your crosshair on the person/object/target. Hmmm that's still not very clear. Here's a examples, say in the a courtyard of rock2 you discard backpack somewhere in the middle and hop around it going right. Mid air/hop you switch from holding right strafe to holding forward and swing the mouse to right at the same time so you are looking at the backpack in the middle of the courtyard. You continue hopping with the foward key which basically causes you to hop around the pack while still targeting it. (You can also shorten the distance between you and the backpacke -shrink the circle- if you aim your mouse behind the pack and increase the circle by aiming in front of it.) Will FF have the same/similiar movement? |

Sideways bhop sounds stupid, considering it is a strafe jump.

Well yeah this particular movement he's referring to is a strafejump but that's not what kam is saying. In TFC and FF it's perfectly possible to bunnyhop and gain speed by using the forward and back keys instead of the strafe keys. Rebo or someone said this was possible because of how similar FF movement is to TFC.

Thanks for all the replies, didn't really play tfc much only qwtf, was pretty sure the movement would be there from the quake/half-life engine connection. The movement in tfc was good and I didn't mind the speed cap but couldn't stand the speed reduction that occured, glad to see it won't be around in FF. |

Circle strafing doesn't involve jumping though, that's just strafing in a circle around your target.
