I need a website...

I am in need of a cheap(!!!) website. Anyone know of an inexpensive host? It's going to be pretty basic, basicly links to my Ravens/Mariners articles, as well as links to my book and free fan fictions.

There's tons of hosts out there, some are really poor, some are really good. Personally, I like DreamHost, but for your application it might be more than you need. Also, if you register a domain ($10), you can usually find someone kind enough to host your domain for you if it's just a basic low-traffic website.

If you opt to buy your own plan, make sure to do ample research before taking the plunge. There's tons of hosting resellers that pop up every night, and disappear after a couple months. If you don't want to get shafted, I'd suggest going with more stable, long-standing hosts who are typically a little more expensive, but at least you know that they won't disappear in a few months.

Truth is, I don't have alot of $$ to throw around. I'm basicly looking for a way to keep my name out there with my (free fan-fiction & sports)writings, and provide links to my published book(s, when the next one comes out). That's why I need "cheap". I don't want to be ripped off, though. I am doing research by asking... I am hoping that someone on my regular haunts(here, d2f, facebook, twitter, etc) will help hook me up(not literally, but figuratively).

I know quite a few people in the FF community have their own servers/hosting. Hell, I barely use my hosting as it is, and I could hook ya up if you needed. Shouldn't be too hard in this community.

Also, GoDaddy is a pretty cheap web host. I pay $6.99 a month for mine and I'm hosting 2 domains from it, plus all my counter strike server's maps and such.

You could probably get their economy hosting for I think like $3 a month or something like that. Check out what they have to offer. I've been using them for 6 or 7 years now and I've never had a problem with my services.

I could make a site for you if you wanted, but my skills are a bit rusty. Just let me know what you want and I'll see if I can muster something up.

WHAT?!

I've used them for over 5 years, and never had a single problem. Hell, even when I went from Shared Hosting to an unmanaged linux server they transfered all my domains over and all the data.
