This topic has been touched on a couple of times as I recall. A quick search shows these:

http://forums.fortress-forever.com/viewtopic.php?t=3017

and this quickly redirected to anime as well

FWIW, my current GF really enjoys Cowboy Bebop. Tell your wife to lighten up...it's not like you asked her to go to a Live taping of Oprah or something depraved like that.

The greatest thing about Cowboy Bebop is that the main character is not 15

Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo were both awesome. Cowboy Bebop really has a great story. Same thing with Champloo (they were made by the same peopel weren't they?).

I really loved Gundam Wing but don't like any of the other Gundam series. Berserk is pretty sweet (what I've seen of it). I love DBZ for the quality of the artwork in some of the episodes, it really can be quite amazing. But yeah it's annoying how they spend 20 minutes screaming at each other and glowing.

Personally my favorites are Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust.

Also an anime I never see mentioned that I really liked: Outlaw Star

Yeah, Outlaw Star was good. I had to laugh at all the work it took to cover up boobies when they put it on Cartoon Network

Too bad they had to cut a whole episode, since not even CN could cover up all the boobies in that one

i think anime is like emo music. most of it is similar and crappy, but there are a few good shows/bands that stand out as pretty good. i saw the cowboy bebop movie and really liked it, though i never watched the show. i did follow gundam wing when i could, i really liked it too.

it never fails, when i drive across the open plains of oklahoma and texas, i always daydream about having a mech... oh well. did anyone watch the endles waltz movie? i thought it was pretty kickin
