Less talk, more treats?
Less talk, more treats. Sometimes pictures speak louder than words.
I mentioned a short while ago that we'd brought on another staff member who has been helping out with the pre-beta activities. He's a mysterious man who often goes by the name Eduardo, but he's more commonly known as Phish. He's been spending a lot of time testing in addition to being a utility guy who helps folks with a hodgepodge of tasks. We're happy to have Phish on the FF dev. team. Although we hit a bit of a snag with the Linux dedicated server crashing issue that was introduced in the recent SDK updates, we've got a pair of windows servers going now so we are getting back on track with the beta plans. More on this soon! For more chips & salsa, check out our media page.

Goddamn how awesome it looks like. Can DEV team tell do you get decent stable fps with your comps IN ff and if you do what are the specs of j00r comps?

awesome, definatly wasn't expecting to see some of this (sniper lines, conc effect, flamethrower effects, etc)
I was about to post: It'd be cool if the gauge on the flamethrower worked (since it looks basically the same in all of the screenshots, I assume it's just there for looks?) Til I got to this screenshot: http://www.fortress-forever.com/?a=media&id=ff_well_17 So it does apparently work to at least some degree, which I think is awesome Last edited by o_vertical; 08-19-2006 at 05:43 AM. |

Not so sure about the laser. Hunted's looking good, but coming up that main road the players seem really small.
I'm hoping the animations look better when they're actually animated, these shots have pretty awkward run poses. The fire looks great, and the conc effect looks... phwoar.

The Devs are such a bunch of hackers with their translucent flame sprites.

just a clarification- the sniper laser beam is being tweaked so it's only visible within a few degrees...so basically by the time you see it you are pretty much a dead man.
