All in favor of a 4v4 league say I!

I know past leagues have slowly died out, but I think there are enough people right now that want to play. Title pretty much says the rest.

Waiting for 2.4 release is a good iddea. I think its gonna be released soon (crosses fingers).

And I think most of the community that would join the league would much rather have it 4v then 5v. I would much rather play 4 15 min rds, then 2 30 min rds. Playin 30 mins of just O or Just D would get boring, and I think most of the community feels the same way.

4x15 min rounds sounds tedius as well.

2x20 min rounds sounds better. I don't see why we'd have to play an hour straight anyways. Keeping the time required under an hour might make it easier to get people to commit. Cause for the 5v5 league even though they were 30 min rounds, the time required usually ended up taking an hour and a half, if not closer to 2 hours a night.

Keep the playing time below an hour might equate to the time required in one evening being an hour flat.

the community would rather do 4v4? mine as well just sit in pickup channel..

I think from most I talk to if the community was large enough would rather see 8v8 but it's not possible atm. I think 4v4 is a waste really it's still fun for competition but I would not get involved in a league unless 5v5 or higher.

I have a solid group of people waiting on and hoping for anything to come up to play league wise but if it's 4v4 we won't even waste our time.

Go big or go home.

people have the option to do 5v5 in pickups too, but they don't; It's preference not a pickup 'thing'

I would play in any league and would start back up UGC if ever the player base gets big enough for it to be worth it.

4v sounds great btw and I love the 20min rounds

increasing the minimum number of players required to play could be a good thing, essentially forcing clans to "adopt a newb" like the fyc league(?), in order to fill their roster. My first semi-competitive match in ff was 9v9 with 50 and geo, that match was vastly more fun than I have had playing this game since.

STOP DESIGNING COMMUNITY ACTIVITIES AROUND THE SMALL PLAYERBASE! You need to design for growth, not stagnation. If things are getting boring do something new that may draw in people who have left the game for the very same reasons that you are bored.

A 9v9 league with open tryouts for all teams to fill their roster hosted here on the forums would be my suggeston.

9v9 is too lofty for FF. Actually, that's too lofty for most games. There's a reason why most competitive teams are between 4 and 6 players. It's simply too hard to get that many people together for something at the same time.

9v9 is fine if you have the numbers and people willing, but even games like TF2 struggle to have 9v9 leagues.

Ya, we could barely field enough players to do a 5v5 on game night. All we had to do was get 5 players! and there's been games where one team (or both) had 1 or two ringers.

I couldn't imagine getting 9 players to commit to coming out for game night.

I don't see what's wrong with 4v anyways. Even if we had a larger player base.

It allows for smaller clans, which allows for more clans. And you only have to get 4 people to come out for game night. But I also like the format, because it allows everyone to play O and D, instead of just O or D.

That's why I think it's soo popular in pickups, most maps can do 4 Defenders, and everyone gets to play offense and defense. As opposed to a 7v7 or 9v9 where generally you're only going to do O, or D

regardless of how many pals you have almost all FF maps are best with fewer than 9 players per team.. call me crazy.

thats amazing, TFC survived on 9v9 for many years.. must be a new thing to get people who wish to compete to show up?

Hammock - I know what you mean and yes it can be fun for "some" to play O and then get a shot at playing D, but some people such as myself have absolutely no real fun in playing offense/defense. I build my team and roster with players being good and doing 1 or the other as their main spot. If they can muilti task thats cool I don't deny them the right to switch up once in a while, but I prefer to sit on D and bust my ass at it. I don't see it as "ONLY" getting to do D I see it as my time I spent working to play that spot in practice paying off in the end during a match, and I take pride in doing a damn good job at it. If I was to now spend time learnign to play offense when I could care less too I am now being told I have to learn to play something I don't want to just to compete in a match , that doesn't seem fair to me. At least with 5v5 You get 2 people to run O - 3 Max D and the rounds are gonna be the same unless the team itself decides to swithc players around on O and D. Personal choice on what class and positon I play is what made me happy about the game being told I have to play something I don't like just for league play seems kind of lame, is 1 more person that difficult?
