Question to MOD team: Combine Shields
I'm not partial to doors in the small maps I'm working on. Will it be posible to use "combine shields" in this mod with "team" entities.
Meaning a shield that will only allow red or blue team to enter or even shoot through. Even more, Will I be able to use the combine shield that will only allow certain classes to access the other side for any given team? Will I be able to make the shield glow with a team color? Will I be able to option or toggle between a "kill" and "deny access" shield? The shields CAN offer soooooooooooo many option to game play. Please ohhhhh please make sure |

Now, this isn't coming from a mapper, but I think it works like this. The combine shield effect is a texture. Soooo...I think you can make certain objects and stuff react differently to each team. Something like the spawns on tempest_r3.

Wow I didn't think about this. This would be great. I don't know how hard it would be to implement though. It reminds me of what the doors on roasted should be like. I think its roasted that I'm thinking of.

I used to make little "turtle-ish maps" to play with my co-workers durring lunch break. There were only 4-8 of us on any given day. I used to use the lazers to protect entry ways from the opposing team but now that we have the "shield" that would be a really great since I'm one of those folks that loves to blure the line between indoor and out door areas the "shield" just fits soooooo perfectly into that design theme IMHO.

An excellent point/suggestion. I think that this would add a good dimension to gameplay as well. I would love to stand behind one of these and show my sprited derriere to some uber-sniper that's been fraggin all day.

I like your idea.
The ability to have it as a selective barrier or killing shield to repsawns. |
