Looks like they removed the doors to reduce the defensiveness of the map.

Awesome
I love the gun models and the well shot looks fantastic very atmospheric
but the hat doesn't look good on the pyro to me. I think it would look better if they just used the fabric to cover his head like the tfc models. Next I wanna see some engy love so show me some concepts, please? |

We plan on requesting props for the searchlights, too...with one prop for the base and another prop for the beam (split up for VIS purposes, so the base can have more detail)...and having some kind of simple animation take place when the color changes...like a wave of light that travels fast up the beam and then explodes at the top...or whatever, just as long as it's awesome. I don't think we'll take another 2 months for the next media release, but of course...maybe that semi-promise shouldn't be taken too seriously. Let's just hope this is the first of many summer updates and releases. |

Excellent! I see that my trust in the devs has not been misplaced. Absolutely outstanding! I love the way the maps are being updated. Instead of just a rehash of the TFC maps, you've managed to bring new life into the fortress style. Everything else is incredible.

Yeah DocX, I saw that too... Looks like the sg is a bit big in comparison to the playermodels? Didn't they say they we're fixing that in an earlier update or something though?
Anyway, great job as always. The mapping is looking very promising, I was especially impressed with some of the cz2 shots. Openfire looks big and clunky, but I'm sure you'll sort it out as you go. And oh, the pyro looks badass. Best model yet imo. |

let me be the first to flame lightly: its the style in which most upates have been written in and the regulars have become accustomed to. I, and many others enjoy Jessie's acid-induced rants. stick around, post often and you will get it. besides, whats more important: the text or the screenies? :/ |

Well looks sweet. Love that water and the sniper window. The sniper window is going to make sniping a bit more challenging with the angle. CZ2 looks great also and love the light idea.
Were there any sound release's in this update? I didn't find any so far. |

pardon me if it's already been posted, only glanced at the first few pages of this thread. but those who are complaining about the openfire screenshot they see saying it will enhance defense fail to realize one very important thing. in tfc -- whenever the flag drops on the floor in between the origanal flag point and the water, and especially the closer the flag comes to the floor walls, the more difficult it is for offense to get it moving and/or capped. in fact i would argue that defending the flag on the openfire floor is more easy than it's origanal spawn point.
what i'm getting at is that from what i see in the screen shot is parts of the floor, particularly parts close to the floor walls mind you, are covered in uneven ground. maybe this major dissapointment people are crying about is actually of the mappers intention to bring more balence to the map. after all, it's harder for demomen to place remote grenades on uneven surfaces rather than flat ground. as for everything else. i am once again very impressed. and i really hope valve is seeing this shit, becuase tfc is my favorite game of all time and i just new that with the right team and execution it could be reinvented into an even better experience. gj ff team |

The red cross is a symbol of medics and basic aid, there's a good reason why it's not team colored.

it still shouldn't be red...a "x" color has to be the same as the "x" team.
