I have to say I was a serious TF/TFC competitor in the day and seeing this video was a joke. FF is smoking on keeping the realism alive, keep up the good work guys.

The trailer was a let down. I was hoping for some actual in-game footage, but the impression they give you while watching this trailer is the same they did with their e3 videos. It looks like they are just testing the technology now without any ingame implementations besides the models being textured and animated. Still looks intresting. Looks like valve is starting to take a humor approach to their marketing. It appears as if Portal and TF2 were attemping to be humorous, achieving it decently though.

Every shoot a rocket down at your feet without having your feet be blown off? TF is not realistic and it shouldn't be. But yeah, seems like they are taking a more humurous cartoony look. Guess we will have to see how it turns out with gameplay. |

Well, one thing is for sure. This whole new look for TF2 will make for some pretty interesting animations. Machinimia or whatever it's called, those movies people make using game engines. It'll be almost like a Pixar studio at home.

I love the way the scout runs.
and yeah, concing and bhopping are huge to tfc, but this is TF2. if you want to play a game that's like tfc, then why not just play tfc? if I plan on paying $19.95 for episode 2 to get TF2, then I want to play something new and refreshing. I don't want to sit there and play it for a half hour and say "meh, this has been done before." for the people bashing valve saying they've turned your beloved TF franchise into a joke, you're not giving them credit for being creative. try to step out of the box you've been playing in for several years. I will agree with the people who are saying the trailer was a let down because of the lack of ingame footage. I was hoping to see the classes battling each other over the flag. but - there's always tomorrow, and maybe down the road, a better trailer. the point of this trailer might have been to spark interest in people who don't know what TF/C is. |

While like others i dont like the idea of no gameplay footage. I'm still very interested in seeing how the game pans out. I could careless about the ''graphics are too tooney!'' or ''omg its not SERIOUS enough!''
Im here to play the game and not sit and try to nitpick about everything. Heavily anticipating both FF and TF2, both games will impact new players or even old tfc players in their own way. Which in my opinion the community is in a win/win situation |

Team Fortress Classic has always been cartoonish. Look at the demoman. Right, an explosives expert with a cigarette on his lips? If you ask me, the models have always been slightly cartoonish. The only thing that's changed with TF2 is that they employ a different style of making cartoons. I personally look forward to seeing some real in-game footage of TF2, but I sure as hell will play Fortress Forever, even if only because of the work the team has put into developing this mod.

the only disappointment i have from the trailer is that there is no SG. i'm guessing they aren't done with that aspect of the game yet, so they just had the engy stand there doing nothing.

Anyone noticed how the sniper seems to be wearing opaque black sunglasses but then, as he fires his rifle, you can see through the left lens .

I cant't decide which I am more excited about now. Portal or TF2. TF2 I should be since its been a long time coming. Portal just looks something different.
