It was 20 at my time of writing, it's already 23 now, L4D is still being updated. To be honest, I don't know if the L4D engine is better, I'm no programmer, but if you're still using a DX7/DX8 card then holy shit you need to upgrade.

Whatever L4D is using allows for two cores to be used, or multi cores. I forget which. It also has some really good lighting stuff I believe.

It has a much better shadowing system (the shadows actually move, not the ones with the flashlights), some VERRY small DX10 support, i mean tiny, and it's not even used. Just some leftover code, prolly for EP3. Oh, and L4D runs a lot better on my machine, support for multicores, Dual Core and up. A more efficient rendering system as well, and while it's not gonna be used for FF at all, support for lots of AIs on screen at once.

Quad is only going to TF2's version. and then that'll be largley L4D code, so it'll be an inbetween thing, but maybe they will update the SDK, im doubtful they will though
