If you mean terrain then id like to keep that to a minimum, maybe a few boxes etc but i dont like the idea of a load of random crap littered around the map. TFC was all about speed and being a fast game, adding to much in the centre will just slow it all down.

A bridge connecting the forts over water is iconic, man. Plus it provides a water route.

They have loaded up for me now. I don't know why but it happens a lot when people post images on the forum, I just have to come back five minutes later and they are there.

Nice and (quite) simple yard, nothing superfluous to get stuck into. It might get a bit spammy in pubs but that's rather usual anyway. Those walls don't look very high though and they seem to end quite sharply, I guess you're still gonna work with them?

Yard design is ok, I mean, it's pretty basic stuff but it's alright. What would we do without pipes uh? I would add something else on top of the walls, be it rocks or just some other geometry... but that must already be on your todo list.
The lighting looks like crap. Everywhere! It's bad. I would try some other light colors for the env lighting. And those blue and red spots look horrible imo. The mix of them = purple and it's ugly. I don't know if you're trying to make a night map or what.. Anyways, looking forward to seeing the inside of the bases... with better lighting and polishing you could end up with a really great map. The yard is a good start so keep it up! |

i agree with shax about the lighting. its just tacked on at the moment, try encorperating it into the architecture itself instead of gluing it to the walls

Somehow I dislike the pillars in the bridge.
BUT I have an idea for you. Make a bridge just like that but with extra. In the middle there would be an ( o ) (the ()'s are the ledge of the bridge and in the middle there is a pillar which has a room inside that has 2 enterances on the sides (not on the base side) from which you can climb up from the water incase you got owned and you fell into the water. Why? 1. It's original (remember the credit me though, since this was my idea, if you use it. I was planning to use it myself but I dont have any ctf maps or anything to use it on, so I give it to you. (yes this is offical announcemt of the ending of ff_rust or ff_baseflag because they became so big.)) and 2. I hate (and some others perhaps) when I get rocketed' or granaded' in 2fort in to the water as hwguy and I have to swim all the way down and drown in to the water if Im low on health. feel free to use it. Edit: Incase you dont understand what I mean I can draw it on paint and you'll see my horrible mouse skill! |
