Just tried out the beta version of it on a server and it's AWESOME, only needs some minor cosmetic fixes. Definitely check it out.

well who's doing this other one, it's been said since before 2.41 that the official one was in the works and I don't want whoever it is to be disheartened by spending ages on a map for us to bring another out in a patch

But ye we need a new patch kinda fast, FF playerbase is getting really low atm, as an example 5 of my admins now are gone, and they here really active before.
And I notice less players too, and new players coming in also. And you get always a boom of players with new patches so ye.
