Why is it CS:S has such a lousy mapping community but FF hasn't even been released and a very large portion of the user maps already look super awesome?
Do TF games just attract mappers more? I mean, with the variety of gameplay and all that |

lol no. it was put on hold to make a Hide and Seek map, which isnt far from being done(about 80%). i've also made a "SGwar" map(95%), a remake of my "Cube" map(90%), and a remake of my "Sollywar"(98%) map.

lots of shit cs:s maps have been made and thrown onto servers inside of 24 hours. people won't do that with FF until after it's release. so, for the moment, it does look like FF might have a better overall standard of mapping. for the moment. :P

I can't remember the name of the TFC map but I'm recommending someone make a similar map to this:
Capture the Flag where each team has a surveillance room safe from the enemy with cameras throughout the bases respectively. |

Security or Vidars
I've created two originals so far FF_Pirates & FF_Submarine with a history for TFC maps. I want to do a remake for my 3rd project. Has anyone started on:
SECURITY_R or VIDARS? With permission of the original mappers I'd consider remaking one of these, however, I might also request the aid of others if I were to take on either. I am not positive I have the necessary textures, and I'd want strong opinions to see that they hold up to the originals. If the original mappers are willing I might even be able to get my hands on the original rmf files which would save time. |
