Good luck with your media instilled idea of beauty. I'm sure if it was a medical issue I'd have more respect for your need to lose weight.
As for advice mine was already posted in the form of food choices and exercise. |

Wait, there's a healthy kind of fat?
Maybe he's just tired of being winded. It's not like he's wanting to get ripped.

A quick note about Atkins:
Not all carbs are created equal! His program is phased out to where you start consuming 20 g of the "good" carbs and at the last phase, up to 50 g. But they are indeed the good carbs. Not the bad ones. The complex carbs he mentions primarily coming from non-starchy vegetables. This supersedes some of the carb content of this topic I have mentioned before. |

I meant a healthy kind of body-that-has-been-enlarged-by-the-storage-of-fat, not the healthy kind of fat one finds in various foods.

Ah. That I believe also is true. A person can be overweight, but that can be a genetic thing. Someone who eats fairly well and gets moderate excercise but is 200 lbs is probably in better shape than someone who weighs 130 and eats McDonalds at his computer 24/7.

He does say that you can go to them, but you really have to be disciplined to know the diet and stick to it. He suggested the obvious stuff such as avoiding sweet, sugar-based sauces(to include ketchup, but mustard and mayonnaise is fine), and also to avoid anything breaded. To be honest, I haven't had a single hamburger in years because of this. It seemed to be a lot of trouble for me back then at the time! Also, more kudos on your weight loss progression! Keep it up, but make sure you eat enough to keep your improving metabolism up! |
