do you mean strafe jumping because thats what it sounds like

im not familiar with the history of anything, but didnt quake 3 cpma have bunnyhopping and strafe jumping?

For once I agree with tu! The air movement is what I love about TFC (hell, to some extent even in CS) and I find the reliance on some kind of boost in those games to be a bit ... bleh?

Yes and yes, it did.

Q3FX also has them, although you can't build speed via air control.

Not significantly different from CPMA in terms of air-control/bunnyhopping. The walljumps and shit are nice, though.
