you can try it. go to any server, preferably empty. aim at anything and place your finger tip on your crosshair (physically put it on your monitor). prime a conc and let it go off in your hand (without throwing it) and tell me if your finger (the black dot from the marker) stays on your true aim or on your crosshair. |

You can also see true aim by going sniper and having someone conc you. The red dot is always your true aim and that is where your shot is going to go. If you trace the pattern your crosshair is making it makes an "8". The point where it crosses over itself is where your aim is really at.

Well, the sniper thing is more of just to show you the mechanics behind the conc effect in TFC. It's still pretty difficult to hit someone with the SR while conced since your screen is flying all over the place. At least with the rocket launcher you don't have to be exact.

It is mainly the sniper rifle weapon model that puts me off. When conced, I sometimes use r_drawviewmodel so I can see the dot rather than the model (cheating!) :P
I usually use the sniper rifle when explaining to someone the mechanics of conc aim, so...I guess that sums it up... |

I used to turn that off back when I was running on the old piece of shit. Saved me one whole fps.
Wasn't a cheat then, at least. Don't think it is now.

You can still use it in TFC although I don't use it as much as I did since I have taken up sniping. I would rather learn to play the sniper properly (speed sniping etc) than using little tricks (r_drawviewmodel "0") to make things slightly easier.

Yeah, they'll complain, like they did about pyro buffs and the SG being a selectable weapon.
