Q4 as a game was a disgrace, but this mod seems pretty cool, something to "put up with" untill FF is out. I got Q4 free with my videocard and after it was installed I noticed exactly why it was free, its TRASH!

FF will most likely be out way before q4f. And yes, I agree, q4 was utter trash. The only chance it has of redemption is through its mod scene. GL on that though!

I acutally liked quake 4 the story line I thougth kicked ass and the twists and turns in the story kept me playing the sky texture was a bit homo, but other then that I thoguht it was pretty awsome plus the mutliplayer is alot like q3 which is also what I liked i unno why everyone hates on quake4 is seemed really cool and the aimming in mutliplayer was pretty dead on accurute from what I could see. :/

but oh well, we'll keep doing the best we can on our side of TF with the 4 developers we have. :P
ya gotta admit, we're doing pretty damn good for the massive lack of talent we have on our team.

and btw tyrus... testing is only a few weeks out. and testing shouldn't be too long before first release. and from what i've read about FF progress here on the forums, Q4F will be out way before FF.

so sure, thats one way to look at it for you FF fans that only plan on playing FF when it releases... Q4F will give ya something to do/play until then. :P

I think non hardcore fans need to see it in action and see that there is a suitable amount of people playing it before spending money on Q4 if Q4 isn't their thing. Probably like some of the people here waiting to get HL2.

I signed up! hahaha. all my friends have an eye on Q4f I would be more then happy to give A$$LOADS of feedback :P and I still like thwe scout climbing the wall. Although is it going to be restricted to only like certain textures? I think it should. or was the video of a scout climbing a ladder haha... can't really tell if it is put in wall climbing!

Ghost, Q4's single player is good enough to buy the game for $29, imo.

Oinker, yes the scout is climing those walls with the nailgun.

you guys are doing a kick ass job for only having 4 people, ignore these fools who are bashing it. I wont be playing it to "hold me off until FF" btw, I'll play it because im very curious and intregued.

Not trying to bash Q4F at all and hope it does well. However, this is the forum for FF so naturally a lot of people will be more interested in FF as opposed to Q4F. That's probably why a bunch don't have Quake4 and are hesitant to pick it up.

And in case it matters. I do have Q4 and I'll probably at least try Q4F. However, Q3F didn't really appeal to me when I tried it so I'm not exactly watching Q4F that closely.

well... while most of the team come from qwtf and q3f, we're not the same dev team. that dev team is now Splashdamage and has done Enemy Territory and is now working on Enemy Territory: Quake Wars (which is looking awesome, btw). so, while some of it may seem similar... its not going to be the same. but yea, thx everyone for the nice comments, it is hard with the lack of people on our team... but we're determined and we hope you all like it just as much as anyone. I'm definatly looking forward to FF and hope everything is going well here.

the mod looks very empty, fast done and lacks atmosphere in my opinion. but its meant to be oldschool progamer style i guess. i like the speed of it, but i cant imagine that in FF.

FF is very harmonic, pretty and thought through. it creates a fantastic atmosphere from what ive seen from the screenshots. it looks like there has been put 10 times more effort then into q4f

Don't think either can be judged before they release at least some in game footage showing "true combat."

I agree that FF looks more thought out, so might do better in the long run. Have to wait and see for the release

Myself I wont be trying Q4F because I can't be bothered to buy quake 4 :P Unless everyone says it is amazing!
