If you let yourself get hacked... you probably should get banned. That's what hackers want, ya they want to get you permenantly banned via VAC. It's a conspiracy.

My account was stolen, along with my email address, a few years ago. I contacted Steam, showed them my original HL case with the matching key, they restored it and returned it to me. It had been banned but they had no issues unbanning it.

If he had known his Steam account was VAC banned, he should have been aware he couldn't use L4D on it and just created a new one.
