Top, agreed. People tend to click through or scroll down fairly fast. The previous ones were just a little to fast to read out of the corner of my eye as I might read an add.

I wonder if Nagual could compromise with that site about the size. |

Yes this banner is really awesome but I'm afraid I won't be able to make any kind of compromise..The rules are pretty strict and will stay what they are, I think 30kb is pretty small but it'll have to be respected..

best thing to do is keep yourself to a limited colour palette. using the photoshop cutout tool or something

I think it's best to only put the banner up after a release date is announced. Most people will click it the first couple of days its up and if they don't see a date or anything and won't bother any more. Including a date in the banner will help once one is announced too, along with the word "free".

Agreed :P And yeah, I think free is vital to add to the banners. If they think they have to pay for it (like most ads are for) then it's alot less likely they'd click it imo. (Though if the banner is interesting enough, it probably wouldn't matter)
Good job all of you guys, they all look great |

there, i added a gallery
if you know anything about html don't check the source or prepare for apoplexy (i learnt html just for this). i actually used a default motd.txt as a basic template, you can imagine the rest. http://nagual7.free.fr/ffbannercontest/ffbanner.html |

woohoo! the first person to see the gallery cool beans
If you need any html help nagual, pm me you might want to stick <br /> between Psycnets images, pixels, and Geokills. Even on the high res I'm on, I still have to scroll over. <br /> basically just means New Line. For example: Code:
<img src=ffbannerimages/geokill.1.gif><br /> <img src=ffbannerimages/geokill.2.gif><br /> <img src=ffbannerimages/geokill.3.gif><br /> Last edited by o_vertical; 12-17-2006 at 07:42 PM. |

well just after each image line, add a <br /> such as in the code box (which is only what Geokills should look like, but the other ones will basically be the exact same)
Edit: You already got it, works great now I'll try to come up with a little summpin' :P to submit. hmm 1600x1200 eh :P and I thought 1280x1024 was pretty high... (per monitor) my actual resolution is 2048x1024, but I don't view webpages in that resolution for obvious reasons I think I'd go blind if I was using your resolution unless your using like a 32" Widescreen monitor or something Last edited by o_vertical; 12-05-2006 at 04:22 AM. |

The funny thing here is, if we have a link on SA, there's always a chance this forum (and it's many superstars, like DH) would end up on the "Weekend Web" feature, where they show how pathetically lost humanity becomes within a community forum.
PS Working on another, I like where this is going ;D |
