Sounds like somebody doesn't know how to use it.

Yeah, Valve better give the medic a more offensive role considering most games won by offense are decided by an uber + push. What a joke.

The only way Medic could be more vital to an offense is if he had double the HP, could heal and uber himself, and carried a RL and stickybomb launcher.

I agree to that. FF Pyro would pwn the TF2 Pyro in a death match any day.

I find the FF cloak to be very useful. If you are a good spy it's amazing. Not to insult your skills but it really is a great tool.

Wouldn't a FF, and TF2 crossover be sweet?

If you know how to move while cloaked and be sneaky it's good. You have
to creep around and hide around corners for a few. Then go for the kill.

Crossover between FF and TF2?? hahaha FF would own. The characters move so damn fast that the TF2 people wouldn't know what hit them..hahaha

No, really, cloak is VERY visible, and I partly agree with GD. It isn't much use if you sit in a dark corner and get shot anyway as if you were fully invisible.

The damage that the TF2 classes do more than make up for this, though.

You've got frags to compensate for that. Also, the TF2 SG's won't be able to lock on a player moving at 700+ speed, allowing for "easy" scout captures, in case of CTF, or reaching the CP way faster in CP games.

I think the TF2 classes do much more damage mostly because there's no armor in the game. Only health.

As for features going one way or another.... Invisibility is pretty much a given for any TF source game because the HL2 engine doesn't really work with feigning death.

The tranquilizer will probably be one of the spy's unlockable weapons. It only makes sense.

Nay. The TF2 classes do more damage because all classes in the game do tons of damage. The scout, for example, could 3 shot our soldier just as he three shots the soldier in TF2.

Also, about the frags...

They're just not skinned. You can see the demo using his MIRV in this vid:

entirely true... i have seen you try to play spy...

i think the FF cloak could use a bit of a tweak, but its definitely not useless. the difference is that in FF you cant just use the cloak to speed all the way behind enemy lines without being seen, you have to use it tactically in small bursts to get past an enemy (or group of enemies) at a time.

Yeah exactly. It's called the same thing as in TF2 but it's used very different. I mean there are many scenarios that are great for the FF cloak.

Examples:

Example 1
  1. You're running in their base disguised
  2. Someone notices you are a spy
  3. Run
  4. Hide
  5. Change disguises
  6. Keep going

Example 2
  1. Back stab sniper
  2. Cloak
  3. Wait for him to come back
  4. Back stab again
  5. Repeat

Example 3
  1. Sabotage a SG
  2. Wait for Engy to come back
  3. As he is rebuilding his SG kill him
  4. Repeat

But anyway lets get back to the TF2 and FF crossover fan fiction Now what map would that be played on?

A discussion that interesting should have it's own thread.

Maybe the OP should do the honors?..

- Edit: then again, I wonder if that'd result in a tf2 vs ff war. lol

I can't believe that TF2 classes vs FF classes has become a discussion....let alone the usefullness of the FF Spy's cloak....if you haven't experienced the pleasure of watching dudes walk past you like you're not there, then you are definitely not doing it right.

TF2 classes have no armor and no nades..........do I need to say anything else? If I do then...how many more guns does FF need to have?

Regardless of how pointless of a challenge it would be, I would love to see a cross-mix fight between the 2 games. It would kind of be like High School Football vs NFL players....points and frags would be out of control.

This is a highly childish post btw.....the supreme geek in me has let this happen.

Both are redundant, to be honest. Armor acts as padded health in this game. FF classes have more health and are slightly faster (on average) and TF2 classes have higher firepower and crits. The only case where the TF2 doesn't have more firepower is the medic, and his utility is what would make the TF2 classes win on 90% of the encounters.

It also depends on whos rulesets we are playing with. TF2's, the FF classes would win on CP maps due to increased speed and health. FF's? The TF2 classes would win on CTF due to instant respawn and improved firepower.

This is also excluding the unlockables that are being pumped out.
