Yeah that was back in either late 1999 or early 2000. I don't remember when I got cable installed, think it was probably late in 2000 and I was the first in the clan to get it.

Back then you were actually impressed if you faced a clan that had two or three people with pings under 100, you thought they had some amazing advantage!

You'd never known any different, the first time you played you had that ping, so it was what you were used to.

It's not until you get a fast connection and your ping drops to 50 that you really realise how horrible a high ping is.

I played at ~250-300 ping for years.

Daily play for three and a half years or so will make you good, I don't care where you actually play at.

i remember pining 300 ish then AOL sucked my balls and i pinged like 500. this forced me to play engi and let me SG do all the labor
