The nice thing about GW is that there is basically no grind, unless you want there to be. All the "elite" items are merely different-looking rather than "better"
All my GW chars are derivations of X Jiggles -- La Jiggles, Le Jiggles, etc |

Well if I could be in two guilds I'd join you guys, but alas I cannot.
I'll start adding y'all to my friends list though.

If anyone wants to go back and play Prophecies...
Most of my GW time is spent goofing off with people. I formed a band once! That was fun. We toured. Brother Arvan. |

Anyhow, I used to play GW - got it when it came out, played the shiat out of it for several months, and havent touched it since. It was great, and I have 3 good friends who play just about daily... but I have no internet connection at my real comp till June. If FF still isn't out then and y'all are still playing, I'll hop in. Imbrifer OrmLeren and Rycekk OrmLeren are/were my names. And yes, I've heard that nightfall > factions from several places several times. I played the factions preview and was unimpressed. |

yeah, most of the names that were on the list last night were already in guilds, so i couldn't invite.
Fire Firea resulted in a "name not found" kind of dialog. La Jiggles got added, though. I have 8 characters, but i'm spending most of my time as: "Annala Gina" pronounced as "Anal Vagina" with a silent "V" or as the easier to spell name of: "Easy to Spell" feel free to friend up |

The best thing about Guild Wars is that it's a great competetive PvP game. Pretty much the entire story/quest mode is just to get people to learn the game, unlock skills, get armor, weapons, etc. It's built to be competetive, you can make a lvl 20 maxed weapons character in a minute if you have the skills.
I played in the Somethingawful guild for a while, got bored with Factions and quit, but it was great when we played guild vs guild games. There are (were?) three competetive games, one (4v4) not that great and Heroes Ascent and GvG. Guild Vs Guild is by far the best, it's all about the skills, strategy and teamwork. The great thing is that people continually invented new things and group combinations (ugh remember Warrior/Ranger IWAYs). |

I played abit after the game was released. Did the storyline thing for a bit. Unlocked all the skills then jumped head first into the guild thing. Had some super fun GvG's with Dark Horizons for awhile. Went on to play with Negative Zero (nO) for awhile. We ran around with a pretty awesome spike build for awhile and even wiped the floor with some of the top Korean guilds at the time (Korean guilds were few in numbers at the time but the good ones were GOOD). Guild fell apart and we went our ways. This was a little bit before they had that big tournament with the top guilds from America/Europe?Asia competing for computers and $10k or something. I really had fun. If they sold competitive packages with all the skills/items unlocked for just PvP I'd gladly pick it up. I could careless about the storyline. Heck I had more fun in pre-searing making it to like level 10-12 farming those char bosses they had way off past the gates. p.s was mojo your name in guildwars? If so it sounds familar from when I use to idle on irc. |
