It looks much better with the sun and change of light direction. And the textures look much tidier as well.

Keep the sign, but not standing. Break it, or do something with it, so it looks bombed out, or whatever YOU think happened to the map. Also, make sure the crosswalk doesn't look new, paint missing, all that jazz.

Pretty sure it's an earthquake, not a bombing, and this poor sap of a "city" was at the center.
Hey, maybe in your 3d skybox, make a big ol' rift for the fault line? That'd be awesome to see. Other than that I think the map's coming along great, very true to the old epicenter.

I thought it was an earthquake as well, but a LOT of people on the boards think it was a bombing.

I'll have a look at that GoCubic. Screens shots are great for WIP maps as you see only as much as I want you to see, each area gets done at a time with the section next to it looking pretty bare. When I get a whole area done I'll do one.
Epicenter by nature brings up the idea of Earthquakes and all that jazz, but you don't often find APC's in the middle of it which makes people think a warzone. Either way its all pretty messed up inside. |

The APCs were put there to quell the resulting riots and looting that took place after the earthquake... once that was handled the two factions that put the riots to rest decided to have a nice game of CTF.

*ahem* I'll be frank about it, then...
APCs brings teams carrying rocket launchers, grenades, nailguns, etc. Teams murder rioters. Teams get bored. Teams play CTF.

Fundamentally, you are correct, but on the technicality that this isn't real life, I win. :P |

Who says there was only one APC when the whole thing started? Sheesh.
Also, we need to quit derailing threads. This is, what, our second?

We have not derailed the thread, we merely flipped the track switch, sending the thread into Oddworld.

Havn't done any more to it than what I have shown, so some bits look less finished than others. The sun glare didn't capture either. Just a test really. |

You have to look at the sun when doing it to capture the glare. I found this out when there was an env_lightglow in the picture along with the sun.

The sun looks awsome
This is indeed nice map. Well done. Reminds me from City 17 fights on hl2 |
