Pretty bad the community has such a lack of conc maps atm that I am refreshing this page every 5 seconds waiting on it to come back up for download ;D.

Very good map, i guess i refreshed right when you did the dl link :P. I despise 1 of the jumps in there though... Not gonna spoil it.

Map was enjoyable. Kept thinking to myself when is this gonna end...
few bugs: last jump -> teles if your not straight back against the wall endroom -> if you miss the train and follow it on the side.. it eventually will teleport you to the last jump. |

The "last jump -> teles if your not straight back against the wall" bug is rather annoying ><
Also, the light in in train tunnel is extremely bright. Other then those few things it's a cool map, gj. |

Last jump drove me bonkers. Teleported back to beginning too many times. I ended up quitting it.

Hehe, I know span wont admit it but it was close to some sort of mapper's melt down yesterday. He chosed to make this kind of map as his first source map and ofc that would mean a LOT of trouble. One of the biggest issues was ambient_generics which ofc didnt work as designed. Thats why the sounds are submitted in the zip file. Seems to be the only way to use ambient_generic and having them work on a pub server.
Another was some textures which span saw but not I. Probably because he has some game or mod which I miss. Maybe Lost Coast. We noticed the texture problem quite late, and it was very close the map had been submitted without span fixing it. This is exactly the kind of concmap FF needs right now in my opinion, a well balanced, good looking and epic medium hard map. Good room for everyone without interupting each other. Span also added the "exit speed in tele" problem by putting fences in front of the place you exit the teles. The map is also hosted @ Euroskillz. The map will run all day @ 85.114.140.42:27015 (fast download enabled). I hope that this sets a new standard for concmaps in FF. And if you never conced before then this is the map to start learning it on |

Yes, i agree with your issues. I know the last jump is a bitch, the teleproblems has been known for a while and constantly on my mind while mapping. It was either a smaller hole/or a bigger one with that problem, i even left a small area at that platform to make it easier. I increased the push speed so that if you get passed that ramp, your as good as done. It is easy, i promisse, done it each time i ran tests on it.
Anyways, there is a reason for each last jump (my opinion). And thats the jump that separates great concers from those who just give up and leave. Even if its annoying, it puts an end of all those other (easy jumps) and you can finish, feeling slightly more professional The bright light in the tunnel was a misstake, i was about to remove it but forgot. However, it only bothers those in the tunnel. (I'll be here if you need to deal with your anger at the last jump, and i can take the blame for that!) |

This map is way beyond my skill level, I can not even do jump 1.
How do I set the timer for a Listen server to infinite? I am all for bettering myself but I do not think I could do this map in 30 minutes anytime soon. ):

Good job span
Very nice map and quite challenging, now make a ctf map I didnt get to finish all jumps but i will play it regularly for sure. |

Note: As you might have noticed the loadingscreen doesnt work correctily: can be fixed by doing this: 1. Open ff_charybda.vmt in folder "materials/vgui/loadingscreens/" 2. Change this line: "$basetexture" "vgui/loadingscreens/charybda" to "$basetexture" "vgui/loadingscreens/ff_charybda" And the loadingscreen will work! |

despite the slight bugs it's an enjoyable map imho. couple of tight spots when you're midair but nothing that's impossible or annoying. very nicely laid out, attention to detail, and felt like a breath of fresh air tbh.
sure a lot of people want to see ports (I know I do too), but there's nothing like a new map. Thanks span! (hosted on .mL & +M|M+ Conc House) |

In my haste to post my frustration I forgot to tell you good job span. So, good job.
Pros: -The map looks great -Varying difficulty in the jumps Cons: -Map is cramped. It felt like i was constantly banging my head on things. -Last jump tele. I landed in the hole at least 10x. None of which resulted in me beating the map :/ Thanks for the release. |
