Yea, they've got essentially a decade of feedback/playtesting already.

IMHO, the biggest mistake you guys made was NOT releasing a beta ASAP. I'm afraid TF2 is easily gonna win the battle in popularity, unless FF has some surprising elements we dont know of yet.
Sure, if you guys insist not releasing a beta, its up to the team ofcourse, your choice. But a bad choice if you ask me and as the future will most likely point out. |

TF2 will have the higher population count regardless. This isn't a competition. The two games are based on the same thing but in the end are two completely different games.

qft. the question isn't who will have the lager playerbase, the question is will ff have enough consistent players to keep the game afloat for some time, making it easy to find servers etc.. |

And then you have the TF community, I wonder how many of them will take more than a glance at TF2? Maybe a lot, maybe not. I know that I will not play it because of a number of issues that are key for me. One of the biggest is the redesign of the 'Medic'. Wtf is that about? I mean, I am all for evolution, but that wasn't evolution that was rape! So my second favorite class is no more in TF2. My first favorite class is apparently boned by rag dolls, so Spy is out in either game. But hey, FF not only has the Medic class, but it has all the other things I love about Team Fortress too. So I will be right here waiting patiently for FF. TF2 has nothing for me. |

I'll play TF2, mainly because it comes with Ep2 and Portal, but I'll play it.

If it takes this much explaining...well...
The non-release of a beta is more of a good thing than a bad thing, despite what those who are impatient say |

Which is why they're steadily expanding the beta group as they get more and more done.
Yay!

So wait, did that firedragon guy get erased from the forums? All his posts are gone. Not that it's a terrible loss, but what has our society come to when we addban people just for not being so sharp and/or mature?
It's like throwing someone in jail for failing an IQ test, or because they say stupid shit. I'm sure that for pretty much everyone, there's an earlier version of yourself for which if you could meet them now, you'd very much want to punch them in the face, or worse. |

Truly. If they edited a particularly offensive post I wouldn't really complain I guess.
