Pixels are square, not curved. Its totally imposible to make a 3D object, or anything infact, round.

NURBS stands for Non uniform rational B (bezier) spline, and uses mathematical equations, much like vector based stuff, to render shapes

NURBS is great but it's not implemented in 3d games really, Ive seen alot of really horny 3d renders but if you like those I suggest you browse the cgtalk.com forums

Theoreticle math concepts involve circles being the result of several thousand lines and in turn angles/courners. As a apposed to a single, curved line.
So, even though you're using pixels, given their small relational size, it's quite possible to create perfectly rounded, or circular, objects. |
